LETTER NO 5

Our First Festival as a Throuple

Music festivals have always been a big part of our story.
Over the years, we’ve danced through Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, countless Insomniac events, Ritvales in Medellín, Tomorrowland Belgium, Exit Festival in Serbia, Awakenings in Rotterdam, Sónar in Lisbon, Sonus in Croatia, and many more.

But our first festival as a throuple was Tomorrowland Brasil
And that’s when we realized…festivals aren’t built for groups of three.

For the “premium” camping, Tomorrowland separates campgrounds based on the package level. Only those who bought the same camping tier can access that area. The problem? Every package is designed for two people.
No options for three. No flexibility.

To make it work, we had to buy two Spectacular Tent packages (each for two people). We split one tent with a friend to offset the cost. Since the three of us always sleep together, our friend ended up with his own private tent.
He was definitely the winner in that deal.

It made us think - why is the world still so stuck on “parties of two”?
Music festivals have become a modern social ritual. They bring people together from all walks of life. Yet when it comes to camping or accommodation, there’s still no room for those who don’t fit the standard setup.

We had an incredible time at Tomorrowland Brasil, despite the logistical hoops. The energy, the music, the connection, it was unforgettable. But the next year, we skipped the camping altogether and rented an Airbnb instead.

Since then, we’ve gone to many shows and festivals as a throuple, but never another camping experience.
Not because we don’t love the idea but because it’s just not designed for us yet.

Maybe one day festivals will start offering more inclusive options.
Until then, we’ll keep showing up, dancing together, and reminding the world that love and joy don’t always come in pairs.
