LETTER NO 3
The Power of Routine Abroad - Creating Stability on the Move
Routine used to sound like the opposite of freedom.
Now it’s what keeps us grounded, no matter where we are.
When we first started living abroad, everything felt exciting, new cities, new apartments, new faces. But after a while, the constant change caught up with us.
We lost track of time zones, skipped workouts, and lived in a blur of work and travel.
Freedom without rhythm quickly becomes chaos.
That’s when we realized we didn’t need less structure, we needed our own kind of structure.
We started building small habits that made every new place feel familiar:
Morning coffee together before opening our laptops.
Weekly check-ins about our goals and moods.
A few hours every Sunday to plan, rest, and reset.
No matter where we are, Rio, Medellín, or Lisbon, those small rituals remind us who we are. They turn random apartments into temporary homes.
Routine isn’t the enemy of adventure. It’s the foundation that lets you keep moving without falling apart.
If you’re always on the go, create moments that stay the same.
Find your version of “home” in what you repeat.
